To the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty: The historical-documentary exhibition “Romanovs in the service of the Fatherland” in Saint-Petersburg

The historical-documentary exhibition “Romanovs in the service of the Fatherland” opens on March 14, 2013 in the Exhibition hall of the Federal State Archive of Saint-Petersburg.

The exhibition, timed to the 400th anniversary of the founding of the House of Romanov, gives a unique opportunity to learn about state, military and charitable activities of representatives of the royal family. 

The expositions presents the act of succession of the Russian Empire of 1797, the manifesto of the full coat of arms of the Russian Empire of 1800, the family tree of Emperor Paul I, the register of births of members of the Russian imperial family, the manifesto of his accession to the throne of the Emperor Nicholas Pavlovich of December 13, 1825, diaries, personal letters, correspondence of great duchesses, their social and charitable activities, the project of monument to Empress Maria Feodorovna, numerous photographs and personal belongings of the Romanov family and others.

The exhibition will run from March 14 to April 17. It is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Federal Archival Agency, the Russian State Historical Archive with participation of the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Historical Archive of the Navy, the State Film and Photo Archive, the Museum-Reserve “Pavlovsk”, the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps, the Central State Archive of Film and Photo Documents of Saint-Petersburg.
