Society and media: The Russian-German project of Paralympic newspaper, to be issued during the Games in Sochi, presented

To promote the popularization of sports and the deepening of International cooperation – is the main idea of the newspaper “Paralympic Reporter”, which presentation was held on March 12, 2013 in Berlin. The event, which was held at the Russian Embassy in Germany, was attended by representatives of political and business circles of Germany, sports functionaries and athletes, as well as journalists of the two countries.

The Paralympics are international sporting competitions for athletes physically challenged. Traditionally they are held after the main Olympics, and since 1988 - in the same sports facilities. So it will be at the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. Russia will take Winter Paralympic Games for the first time.

The “Paralympic Reporter”, which in the German version is called «Paralympic Zeitung», issued on the basis of already existing publications as a supplement to them. This allows for the fact that the circulation of the newspaper could be several million copies than not a single publication can boast of.

The edition of “Paralympic is supported with a number of organizations, including the Eastern Committee of German Economy (ECGE) and the German-Russian Forum (GRF). Business Manager of ECGE Rainer Lindner called the Olympic and the Paralympic Games in Sochi, a great event, recalling that Russia also expects other important sporting events, including the World Cup in 2018. The GRF board member Martin Hoffmann expressed the belief that the issue of the publication the “Paralympic Reporter” will also contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
