Russian culture abroad: Festival of Russian literature SLOVO has started in London

The fourth annual festival of Russian literature SLOVO, organized by the cultural organization Academia Rossica, is held from March 5 to 26, 2013 in London.

The calculated 20-day program is the most intense in the history of the festival – it includes 25 events.

At the festival, Academia Rossica it is also planned to introduce a new project, a social network for translators and publishers of Russian literature TranslatingRussia.org. Traditionally, the Fund also will award the winners of the annual contest for young translators Rossica Young Translators Award. SLOVO for the first time this year also includes a children's program - readings and performances by children's books and cartoons on the works of Russian writers.

The festival will come to an end on March 26 by reading poetry of Joseph Brodsky with commentary by the world-renowned expert of Brodsky Valentina Polukhina and there will be shown the documentary film “Joseph Brodsky: A Conversation with Celestial”.
