World history: Exhibition “Propaganda: Russian and Norwegian posters, 1920-1939” in Oslo
February 28, 2013 at the National Library of Norway in Oslo was held the solemn opening of the exhibition «Propaganda: Russian and Norwegian posters. 1920-1939».
A large part of the exposition – 63 posters – is presented in the National Library of Russia. 7 posters – are from the National Library of Norway. The exhibition is based on the agreement between the national libraries, the purpose of which is to show Norway viewers the unique materials from the National Library of Russia collections.
The exhibition shows various samples of the Russian poster, which collection, stored in the NLR – is one of the best in Russia. Posters created by A. Rodchenko, V. Lebedev, L. Lisitsky, brothers Steinberg and other famous masters vary by subject, genre, and art style. All they tell of the lives of people, who enthusiastically built in 1920s – 1930s the world’s first socialist state. The exhibition is another, very interesting step of cooperation between libraries, which began in 2003.
