To the 68th anniversary of the Great Victory: The exhibition “Soldiers of Victory” in Khakassia

April 29, 2013 The L. R. Kyzlasov Khakassia National Local Lore Museum (Abakan) opens the exhibition “Soldiers of Victory”, dedicated to the Victory Day and the 70th anniversary of the 309 Piryatinskaya Infantry Division.

The 309th Infantry Division was formed in Abakan at the end of 1941 - beginning of 1942, and in September 1943 for a brilliantly executed operation to liberate the city Piryatin, the 309th Infantry Division was awarded with the honorary title of “Piryatinskaya”.

The exhibition includes materials of the 78th volunteer brigade, also formed in Abakan.

The original museum objects - photos, documents, letters, newspapers, personal and household items - will help to reproduce the situation in which flowed a soldier’s life during the war. A special place in the exhibition is devoted to the defense of awards and medals, weapons of that time.
