Information technology and authority: The Government Commission on the Implementation of IT has discussed issues of the regional information

The head of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia Nikolay Nikiforov on April 18, 2013 held a regular meeting of the Government Commission on the implementation of information technology (IT) in the activity of state bodies and local self-government.

During the meeting Deputy Minister Oleg Pak made a report “On the implementation of the state policy in the sphere of regional information”. Oleg Pak also noted the need to improve the position of the Russian Federation in the international ranking of the United Nations on e-Government. “Before the Russian Federation there is the task in 2015 to enter the twenty leading countries in terms of e-government. In 2012, the country has made significant positive jump in the international ranking of the United Nations from 59 seats to 27. We need to continue this momentum”, - said the deputy minister. In particular, to achieve these goals there will be the upgrade of electronic resources departments.

At the meeting were also discussed the plans for the introduction of a new model for monitoring the activity of the executive authorities to launch a system of interagency electronic interaction (SMEE). Director of the Department of E-Government Ministry of Communications of Russia Alexey Kozyrev stressed that today the launch of the project on interagency electronic interaction involves 33 federal executive and 83 regions of the Russian Federation, and the total number of tasks in the framework of the project is around 60,000. “It is clear that we need an automated system for tracking the status of these tasks. It is planned that by May 1 it will be launched such a monitoring system, and by June 1 will be formed by the first rating of readiness of the executive power to the electronic inter-agency cooperation”, - said the head of the department.

Also there was a pre-approved list of measures to improve the quality of the user interface on the web sites of government agencies for the convenience of the population.
