Society and culture: Exhibition, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Union of Russian artists, in the Museum Reserve “Tsaritsyno”
April 5, 2013 in the Grand Palace of the Museum-Reserve “Tsaritsyno” opens the exhibition “The Union of Russian artists. The history continues”, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Union of Russian artists.
This art organization existed in Russia in 1903-1923 and united such masters as V. Vasnetsov, M. Vruble, K. Korovin, N. Roerich, M. Nesterov and many others prominent artists. In 2008 the Union of Russian artists was recreated on the previous ideas and principles, again combining the best representatives of the Russian realist school of painting.
The peculiarity of the exhibition in “Tsaritsyno” is that, along with pictures of the current members of the Union, are presented works of those authors who continued the tradition of this art organization in the XX century: Alexei Gritsai, Arcadiy Plastov, Vladimir Stozharov, Nikita Fedosov, Gregory Chainikov. Many of the works of these artists will be on display for the public for the first time.
The exhibition will run till May 26, 2013.
