Internet and society: A single search on official web sites of Moscow launched

The Department of Information Technology of Moscow began testing services through the search at the official online space of the capital. Search panel, which does not allow citizens to think about the page which agency should seek an answer to a particular question, has already appeared in 42 standard web sites of offices.

“The new service simplifies navigation of official resources and significantly reduces the time to find useful information and query, and the analysis will optimize filling of city web sites and portals to the needs of users’, - they noted in the department. The previous survey, developing search revealed that one of the reasons for the difficulties in finding information is a serious discrepancy between the general language in which the request is formulated, and the official language of the city’s resources. “With the accumulation of data, the search engine can recognize these differences and provide the user with the necessary service or answer on search engine” - say the developers.

In the near future, this new functional will appear at the web site mos.ru, the Moscow government services portal and online portals “Our City”, “Roads of Moscow”, “Houses of Moscow” and “Open Data”.
