To the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture: The exhibition of rare editions in the State Peterhof Museum Reserve

At the Grand Palace of the State Peterhof Museum Reserve on May 24, 2013, at the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture, opened the exhibition “Cyril and Methodius: at the origins of the “literary universe”.

The exhibition features rare editions of Calendar of the XIX century, determined the church traditions and at the same time, served as collection of Russian people’s signs and practices, materials of the Slavic alphabet, illustration on the theme of teaching children to read and write, including reprints “ABC” by A. M. Benoit, “Civil ABC with corrections by Peter I”, reproduction by E. Boehm. The exhibition is complemented with cards and objects of decorative art of the late XIX - early XX centuries.
