Society and the Media: VIII Belarusian International Media Forum opens in Minsk

VIII Belarusian International Media Forum "Partnership for the Future: the Historical and Cultural Heritage as a Factor of Unity" is held in Minsk from 22nd to 25th of May 2013, with the participation of 15 countries.

"In the year of Belarus presidency in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) this Media Forum will be an important international event aimed at enhancing the dialogue between the cultures, the creation of a common humanitarian space,” - stated in the Information Ministry of Belarus. In this case, the Office noted that the theme of VIII Belarusian International Media Forum explains the historical and cultural heritage as major strategic resource integration.

Among the announced topics of the forum the "Dialogue of Cultures - the Dialogue between Peoples", "Media: Mission to Preserve and to Develop the Historical and Cultural Heritage", "Language and National Literature as the Factors of Nations’ Unity and Sovereignty".

Media representatives of CIS, near abroad and foreign countries will discuss a number of topics related to the historical mission of the media in the preservation and development of the historical and cultural heritage.

There will be "The Book Art" of the CIS countries international contest within a forum. The international jury members will determine the best publications in seven competitive categories: " Commonwealth", "My Country", "Children Books", "Culture. Science. Education", "Art Book", "Printed in the Commonwealth" and "Grand Prix ".

In addition, Belarusian media forum participants will visit Nesvizhski National Palace and Park Complex, which will host expert-session "The Objects of World Historical and Cultural Heritage in the Context of Public Policy of Regional Development".
