On the occasion of the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture: Reader's Conference the "Debating Questions of the Origin of the Slavic Written Language" in Moscow
Dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the great mission of the Slavic educators Cyril and Methodius readers' conference called "The discussion questions of the origin of the Slavic Written Language" is being held in Moscow on May 22, 2013, by the Russian State Library and the International Fund for Slavic Literature and Culture.
On the agenda of the conference are the following questions:
- Was there an ancient prior to Cyrillic alphabet writing?
- What is the Slavic syllabic writing known as Runitsa?
- Were the authenticity of the Book of Veles and the Runes of Perun proved?
- Who created Glagolitic alphabet?
- Which one of the Slavic alphabets was initial - Glagolitic and Cyrillic?
Utterly opposite views on these issues will be explained by the scholars, writers and journalists.
