History and culture: The exhibition “Family traditions: history and modernity” in Stavropol

May 16, 2013 on the eve of the Day of the Region dedicated to the Year of the family and the well-being of children in the Stavropol region, in the G. N. Prozritelev and G. K. Prave State Museum Reserve opened the exhibition “Family Traditions: Past and Present”. The exhibition introduces the family life and the traditional way of Stavropol that existed in the past and is developing at the moment.

The exhibition is attended by 15 regional museums of the Stavropol region.

A variety of museum exhibits include documents, photos, heirlooms and antiques – they will demonstrate how there process of evolution of family and family traditions in the urban and rural environment Stavropol used to be. The exhibition will feature family dynasties and families with many children of wedding ceremonies and the upbringing of children in different historical periods. The visitors will see recreations of the interiors with elements of family life of the residents of our region.

The exhibition was attended by 15 regional museums of the Stavropol region: Essentuki, Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, Izobilnensky, Nevinnomysskiy, Georgievsky, Budennovsky, Novopavlovsky, Novoselitsky, Krasnogvardeysky, Praskoveisky, Andropovsky, Blagodarnensky, the Tatar Village museum, the Don Village museum.
