Society and Reading Chekhov Book Festival in Taganrog

From 15th to 18th of May, 2013, Taganrog receives the traditional Chekhov Book Festival organized by "Pushkin Library" Foundation (Moscow).

The organizers have prepared a program that is of interest to any guest, from the amount of residents and visitors, children and adalts.

As in previous years, the Central Branch of A. P. Chekhov Pablic Library in Taganrog will arrange the exhibition of new books from the largest Russian publishing houses, featuring the special displays dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the "Children's Literature" and to the 90th anniversary of the "Young Guard" publishing companies.

Maxim Gorky Central Children's Library will offer the vievers a chance to get acquainted with the books and the book graphics that are prepared for the 100th anniversary of S. Mikhalkov and B. Dragoon.

During the seventh Chekhov Book Festival the "Children. Culture. Reading" scientific and practical conference for employees of institutions of culture and education of the Southern Federal District, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Maxim Gorky Central Children's Library, will be held. Leading experts of the Russian State Children's Library will attend the conference.

Everyone can join the interactive actions - flashmobs timed to an anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Mayakovsky - 120 years ago, and Maxim Gorky - 145 years, and visit the book fair.

A total of 40 thematic areas of the city will host over 50 events during the days of the festival.
