To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty: “The Emerald Room” to open in Yekaterinburg

Museum of the history of lapidary and jewelry in Yekaterinburg is building up a new exhibition entitled "The Emerald Room." The exhibition, where you can see the unique Ural emeralds and jewelry made of them, will open at the mansion of the merchant Tarasov, which is now the residence of the governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, in May.

The stones of almost all the shades, from pale to bright, saturated green will be on display - not only from the museum collections, but also from the collections of the Hermitage, the Moscow Kremlin, and others.

In addition to the stones, "The Emerald Room" will present portraits of Russian empresses and Russian noblewomen in jewelry with emeralds.

"The Emerald Room" is one of the projects planned to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the beginning of the reign of the Romanov dynasty in Russia. To mark this date, in the Sverdlovsk region there has been developed a list of memorial, cultural, educational, scientific and research activities, which are aimed at promoting the historical and cultural heritage of Russia, the development of international cultural cooperation and tourism potential of the region.
