
Museums of Russia: “Masterpieces from Abramtsevo Museum” exhibition in Yaroslavl
April 26 to June 21, 2013, Yaroslavl Art Museum is holding the exhibition "Masterpieces from the Abramtsevo Museum." The exhibition features works by Russian artists of the 19th century created at the Abramtsevo estate near Moscow. Visitors will see about 50 paintings and graphic works.
Abramtsevo is an important place in the history of Russian culture. At various times there lived and worked outstanding Russian artists. At the estate and its surroundings were written the works familiar to everyone from childhood, such as: "Religious procession in the Kursk Province" and "Unexpected" by I. E. Repin, "Alenka" and "Heroes" by V. M. Vasnetsov, "A girl with peaches" by V. A. Serov, "A vision of a boy Barholomew" by M. V. Nesterov and other masterpieces of the Russian painting.
