
Internet resources: The Russian Historical Society to have its own web site
The Russian Historical Society (RHS) announced the results of the first year and outlined plans for the future. In particular, according to the chairman of the Society Sergei Naryshkin, it plans to publish journals and to launch its own Internet web site.
“The concept of a magazine is ready. Of course, we have to create a vibrant and active web site of the Russian Historical Society”, - said the speaker of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, head of the RHS. He said this at a meeting with historians and public figures, which was dedicated to the anniversary of recreating of the historical society.
Speaking on the results of the work done for a year, Sergei Naryshkin noted that the number of organizations that have joined the RHS has increased from 27 to 50. “In April, there was also appeared the first regional branch of the society in Saint-Petersburg. The proposals for the establishment of regional offices come from Kazan, Penza, Tver, Tula and Yaroslavl… We also invite individual members of the community”, - said Naryshkin.
The founding Congress of the Russian Historical Society was held in summer of 2012, and in early January 2013 a decree on the establishment of the organization was signed by President Vladimir Putin. He also headed the Board of Trustees of the society. Sergei Naryshkin was elected as the Chairman.
