History of Russia abroad: The round table with historians and the book presentation held in Paris
In Paris on June 21 took place a presentation of the fundamental scientific work “The Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945”. The first five volumes of research are devoted to the major events of the war, battles and battles that changed its course. The presentation took place at the round table, which was held at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture.
The head of the Institute of Higher Studies of National Defence of France Jean-Pierre Arrignon stressed that people in France cherish the traditions of the Russian-French brotherhood-in-arms, the heroic history of the regiment “Normandy-Niemen” in the ranks of the French pilots who participated in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. Professor Arrignon welcomed the intention of the Russian colleagues to dedicate one of the following volumes of his fundamental work to the anti-Hitler coalition.
In his turn, a professor of the University of Lille-III Sophie Askenof noted the interest of the French military historians in the development of exchanges with their Russian counterparts, conducting joint research.
