To the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty: The exhibition “Siberia and the Romanovs” opened in Irkutsk

In the department of the Irkutsk Regional Local Lore Museum on June 18 opened the exhibition “Siberia and the Romanovs” dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the House of Romanov. The opening of the exhibition was timed to the celebration of the Russia Day. The exposition will run till September 1, 2013. The exhibition consistently traces the state policy of Russian tsars in relation to Siberia, their role in its setting and developing since the reign of Fyodor Mikhailovich to Emperor Nicholas II. The exposition marks the most significant moments and stages of relations between the government and Siberian territories, say the organizers.

Visitors can see rare books of the XVII-XXI centuries, archaeological findings from the Siberian burial mounds, first Siberian coins, geographical maps. The exhibition illustrates a large amount of archival photo materials.
