World history: The exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the flight into space of Valentina Tereshkova in Saint-Petersburg

June 14, 2013 in the New Building of the National Library of Russia (Saint-Petersburg) opens the book-illustrative exhibition “The first. To the 50th anniversary of the space flight of the first woman cosmonaut in the world Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova (June 16, 2013)”.

The exhibition at the National Library of Russia features newspaper and magazine articles about the flight of Tereshkova, published in June 1963, TASS news in pictures, photo albums, as well as the publication of the first cosmonaut of the USSR and of the spaceship “Vostok-6”, a book on the history of space in the USSR and other documents from the National Library of Russia. One of the sections of the exhibition is devoted to works by Tereshkova, her scientific works and literature about her.

The exhibition will run till June 27.
