14 June 2013

In Omsk since 11 June 2013 the M. A. Vrubel Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts and the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts present the interregional exhibition project “Window to Europe. Art of Holland, Flanders and Belgium of the XVII-XIX centuries”.

The exposition is dedicated to the Year of Russia - the Netherlands, and its opening can rightly be attributed to a number of colorful cultural events of the year. The name of the project associated with the activities of Peter I, was marked by the rise of the Russian-Dutch relations, the interest in Dutch painting, as well as the emergence of a Russian collecting and museology.

In March 2013 the exhibition was opened in the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, and in June it will continue its work in Omsk. The exhibition features more than seventy works of art and decorative art from the collections of the two art museums.

The exposition is complemented with unique items of Delft faience - the famous ceramic art products, which are an important part of the Dutch style of the XVII century, as well as collections of Belgian lace of the XIX century.

During the work of the exhibition will be held the International scientific-practical seminar “Scientific research and restoration of works of Dutch and Flemish painting”, organized by the M. A. Vrubel Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts in conjunction with the Department of the restoration of the University of Amsterdam.
