The Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Archive of the Penza region Kirill Zastrozhny on June 6, 2013 presented the electronic guide through historical places of Penza – “Walking along old Penza”. The guide is created to the 350th anniversary of the regional center.

“We should make an attractive city for local, historical, scientific tourism”, - said Zastrozhny. He noted that the project is interested both for guests of Penza and for the younger generation of citizens who “this weekend can go with their parents to explore historical places”.

The guide is an electronic reference book with an interactive map of the city, which marked the monuments of historical and cultural heritage, protected by the state, region and municipality. If you point the cursor, its old and modern photographs and historical information will display over an object. The map shows such monuments as the governor’s house and the building of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, the Savitsky Picture Gallery, the Penza Art College, the Meyerhold Museum, the Transfiguration Church and others. Within the city of Penza are located about 150 historical and cultural objects.

The official celebration of the 350th anniversary of Penza is held on September 13-15, 2013. The Chairman of the Committee on preparation of the 350th anniversary of Penza is the State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin.
