To the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty: The International Scientific Conference “The Romanov dynasty: traditions of charity and patronage” in Moscow

June 4-6, 2013 the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of the Russian Abroad (Moscow) hosts the International scientific conference “The Romanov dynasty: traditions of charity and patronage”.

The conference is timed to the 400th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Mikhail Fedorovich (1596-1645), the first monarch of the Romanov dynasty and is dedicated to the problems of the history of interaction between government, institutions, charities and individual patrons, as well as the role and contribution of representatives of the imperial family in the development of Russian culture, Education and Science.

The scientific program of the conference includes work on three main directions:

- the charity and held to the poor in Russia under the auspices of the House of Romanovs, prominent patrons from the Romanov dynasty as an example of public service;

- the Romanov dynasty and the Russian science and culture;

- the Romanov dynasty and the Russian culture.

At the conference will be delivered speeches by experts from Azerbaijan, Germany, Canada, Greece, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Serbia, the USA, Ukraine, Finland, France, as well as scientists and art historians from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Vladivostok, Perm, Krasnoyarsk.

During the conference in the Alexander House of the Russian Abroad will be on display the exhibition “The Romanovs: the finishing touches to the biography. From the archive and museum collections of the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of the Russian Abroad”.
