Electronic resources: Electronic Memory Book created in the Stavropol region

The specialists of the M. Y. Lermontov Stavropol Regional Universal Scientific Library have completed the first phase of the project to create an electronic version of the printed Memory Book of the Stavropol Territory.

The electronic version, including remotely, includes the first ten volumes of the holy book, which presents information about Stavropol residents who heroically fought and died in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Time has shown that the Memory Book, the first volume of which was released in 1994, is a popular edition not only in the Stavropol region, but also in the whole of Russia. Requests for it come from foreign countries. Given the urgency of the book, the members of the editorial board, the participants of the Great Patriotic War, have initiated the creation of an electronic version of the printed edition.

The Memory Book of the Stavropol Territory is presented in alphabetical order of districts and cities of the region, the individual volumes include 20 to 30 000 names. There is the following data about every dead soldier: name, surname, first name, and date of birth, title, place of recruitment into the ranks of the Red Army, the time and place of death.
