Society and culture: The exhibition of art treasures from the collection of the Moscow Kremlin Museum to be held in Ulan-Ude

In autumn in the M. N. Khangalov Museum of the History of Buryatia (Ulan-Ude, Republic of Buryatia) will be open the exhibition “From Peter the Great to Paul I. Art treasures of Imperial Russia of the XVIII century from the collection of the museums of the Moscow Kremlin”.

The work on the project is going from the beginning of 2013. At the exhibition “From Peter the Great to Paul I” will be presented works of Russian, Western and Eastern Art of the XVIII century: weapons and armor, silver utensils made of precious and semi-precious stones, tapestries, secular suits, church vestments, medals - a total of about 100 exhibits.

“These temporary exhibitions the specialists of the Kremlin Museum are trying to focus on that region and to the city where they were being taken, - said the head of the department of Armory of the Moscow Kremlin Museums Elena Morshakova. - Therefore, the exhibition in Ulan-Ude will focus on political and cultural relations of the Republic of Buryatia with the Asia-Pacific region”.

At the exposition will first be exhibited a full collection of Chinese carved stone – a sacred nephrite.

The exhibition will be held within two months.
