
Museums of Russia: The exhibition, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the G. R. Derzhavin Memorial Estate in Saint-Petersburg
The exhibition “Here, every step in the soul creates memories of previous years” opened at the G. R. Derzhavin Memorial Estate (Saint-Petersburg). It is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the G. R. Derzhavin Memorial Estate and the 270th anniversary of the birth of the poet and statesman Gavrila Romanovich Derzhavin.
The exhibition features unique photos and video archives of the museum. Many materials are exhibited for the first time: visitors will be able to see high points of modern life of memorial estate and rare historical footage. Of particular interest are preserved evidence of past years: the photo of the destroyed house of the poet, the types of ruined manor, unique documents, sketches and plans for recovery. The exhibition shows a film about the history of the restoration of the house of the poet and the establishment of a museum and other multimedia materials.
During the life of G. R. Derzhavin the on the quay invited literary and political elite of the country: D. I. Fonvizin, N. M. Karamzin, I. A. Krylov, and S. T. Aksakov.
After the restoration in the memorial estate was full of life, full of many interesting, iconic cultural events. There are ceremonies, exhibitions from the museum and creative experiments of modern artists, visits by top officials of the country and the descendants of A. S. Pushkin, meetings with the leaders of science, art and culture, festivals of the XVIII century of Russian poetry, concerts and performances.
