History of Russia: The exhibition “Fire Arc: strategy of victory”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk, in Moscow

July 17, 2013 in the Exhibition Hall of the Federal Archives in Moscow opens the historical-documentary exhibition “Fire Arc: a strategy of victory”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk.

A unique exhibition is divided into three sections: “From Battle of Stalingrad to Kursk: Economics of victory”, “Designers and commissars” and “Fire arc”. In the exhibition hall is presented the history of modernization of military equipment, documents, military engineers and Stalin’s commissars, authentic German documents about the “Operation” Citadel”. And the battle of the famous Battle of Prokhorovka on July 12, 1943 is represented not only in the memories of the participants, but also in the present military maps. Some archival documents and museum exhibits, more recently, having stamp “Confidential”, can be seen for the first time.

“The Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will present unique documents, battle flags of the sample of 1941-1943, Soviet and German uniforms, personal belongings and documents of famous Soviet generals - Marshal Georgy Zhukov, Marshal Ivan Konev, Marshal Peter Rotmistrov, General of the army Nikolai Vatutin and many others”, - said the head of the Department of Culture of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation Anton Gubankov.

In the preparation of the exhibition participated the Central Archives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Central Archives of the Federal Security Service of Russia, the State Historical Museum, the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the National Museum of Military History, “Prokhorov field”, the Museum of the History of the T-34 and Federal Archives of Germany.
