Information technology and archives: “Electronic Archive” Corporation to digitize archival documents in nine regions of Russia

After winning in two contests of the Federal Archival Agency the “Electronic Archive” Corporation will digitize archival documents of regional state archives. The competitions are held within the framework of the target program “Culture of Russia” (2012-2018).  

As a result of the victory in the first contest the Corporation will transfer the inventory of state archives of the Komi Republic, the Republic of Mordovia, the Altai Territory, the Pskov region to the format of electronic databases and it will index electronic images of the archive of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra.

On results of the second contest ELAR will perform the digitization of documents of State archives of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania, Voronezh and Nizhny Novgorod regions and the State Historical Archive of the Chuvash Republic.

Currently, the works on the transition of inventory and documents to the electronic form are held in nine regions of Russia.
