
Russian regions: The exhibition “Through the aperture of time” in Blagoveshchensk
July 13, 2013 the Amur Regional Center of the Presidential Library (Blagoveshchensk) opened an exhibition of Soviet photo technique. The exhibition “Through the aperture of time” will run until August 1, and is timed to the Day of the photographer (July 12).
The exhibition features examples of cameras, which were used by the previous generation, “Kiev”, “Smena”, “Sharp-Sighted”, “Zenith”, and etc. The most part of the equipment is from the private collection of Anatoly Levski (correspondent of the news agency “Amur Info”). It is complemented by the exhibits made from the colelctions of the Amur Regional research Library and other photographers.
In addition to photographic equipment, the exhibition presents the equipment with which used to develop film and print photos. The materials of the book exhibition “Photography: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” will tell the visitors about the ways of making the film at home and those models of cameras, which were produced in the Soviet period. Lovers of photography will be presented interesting books and manuals – the Soviet literature on photography, dated 50s and 60s of the XX century and the filing of pre-revolutionary newspapers, such as “Amateur Photographer” for 1896, 1897 years, “Russian photographic magazine” for 1897.
