
Society and culture: 14 copies of paintings by artist are granted to the Museum Estate of Ilya Repin
State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Grigory Rapota has donated to the museum-estate of Ilya Repin “Zdravnevo” (the Vitebsk region, Belarus) 14 unique copies of paintings by the artist. The event took place on the Day of the Union State of the XXII International Arts Festival “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk”.
“These are very high-quality copies of pictures in full size. I hope that now visitors of the museum will have a more complete picture of the work of Repin, his greatness”, - said Grigory Rapota.
Among the copies of the paintings are the famous painting “Ivan the Terrible kills his son”, “Cossacks are writing a letter to the Sultan”, “On the hunt”.
According to Rapota, there is an agreement with the management of the museum, so it should also serve as a cultural, educational center.
The Museum-Estate of Repin is located near Vitebsk on the picturesque bank of the Western Dvina. The artist lived there from 1892 to 1902 years, and has created more than 60 paintings and drawings.
