International conferences: The International Forum “Twin cities and symbols of modern heritage”

July 6-8, 2013 the Russian center of the I. I. Mechnikov Odessa National University hosted the International Forum “Twin cities and symbols of modern heritage”.

The main objective of the forum is to hold meetings between the twin cities of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The participants have discussed various issues of Twinning preserve unity in today’s reality. It was agreed to continue the cooperation that is scheduled to hold joint conferences. Today, more than 150 Russian cities have close ties with the cities of near and far abroad. In Russia many cities in Europe, the USA, Canada and China have developed and strengthened economic and cultural ties.

The forum included two round tables “Problems of the Russian language in Eurasia” and “The historical legacy in the lives of East states”. The participants of the round table discussed contemporary issues that unite Brest, Volgograd and Odessa as well as identified effective mechanisms of cooperation.
