Russian regions: A series of exhibitions started on excavation site in Kaliningrad

The exhibition project “City-window” presented a series of one-day exhibitions of exhibits from the collections of the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum, started on July 10 on the territory of observation deck of archaeological excavations “Royal Castle” in Kaliningrad; up to August 29 here will be presented eight expositions.

“Visitors will learn about the most interesting exhibits from the museum collections. The new collection of authentic historical items will be presented every Thursday on the observation deck of archaeological excavations “Royal Castle”. Many of them now can be seen only within the framework of the project”, - said the representative of the cultural institution M. Teplysheva.

The first series of the exhibition, which opened on July 11, tells of how Konigsberg was built. One day in the exposition called “Red brick – a secret symbol of the royal Castle” could be seen the collection of unusual building materials from the collections of the historical and art museum.

All the exhibitions are united by the theme of Konigsberg. Visitors can also learn how the city used to live, how it fought, how the people traded, how they had rest and celebrated holidays, why are there  many Masonic symbols in Konigsberg, as well as who of celebrities used to live in the capital of East Prussia.
