Russian language and society: The International forum “Russian language and Russian culture – ways to strengthen their positions in the modern world”
July 6-10, 2013 in Sofia was held the International forum “Russian language and Russian culture – ways to strengthen their positions in the modern world” with participation of representatives of Russia, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Latvia and Bulgaria. The forum was attended by 170 people, including specialists of libraries, directors of kindergartens and schools, teachers and methodologists, experts, university professors, representatives of educational authorities and international non-governmental organizations: MAPRYAL, MPO and etc.
The forum was held in the framework of the International project of the Municipal Cultural Institute “Metropolitan Library” and the Russkiy Mir Foundation with the support of city administration of Sofia, the Ministry of Education of and Science of Bulgaria, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Russian cultural and information center in Sofia, the International Association of Teachers of Russian language and Literature, the International Society for Teaching of the Russian Language, the Bulgarian Library and Information Association, the National Network of Bulgarian basic education institutions with the study of Russian language, the Russian Language Society of Bulgaria and other Russian and Bulgarian organizations.
The main directions of the forum:
- learning of innovation approaches to the issues of the improvement of a librarian’s work in a multicultural environment, increasing the motivation to quality teaching of Russian language, search for ways to strengthen the position of Russian language and Russian culture in the world today;
- exchanging of innovation experience and practical experience in the field of teaching of Russian language as foreign as well as in the field of the study of Russian language throughout life.
As part of the forum were held conferences, two methodological seminars, round table, meetings of members of the National Network of Bulgarian basic educational institutions with the study of Russian language and the Bulgarian Association of Librarians.
