
Information Technologies and History: "Panorama at Panorama of the Life" Interactive Project in Volgograd
"Panorama at Panorama of the Life” presentation takes place on August 31, 2013, in the square in front of the "Battle of Stalingrad" State Historical-Memorial Museum and National Park in Volgograd.
The information aria will be sited in the panoramic hall lobby. Everyone will be able to learn the history of panoramic art and to find out about preceded its emergence genres, the other currently working panoramas and more. On a screen of the information kiosk and through the special “glasses” the visitors will see the images of religious, battle and scenic panoramas of the world and learn the history of "The Defeat of German-Nazi Forces near Stalingrad" panorama.
The "Festival of Panoramas" will be arranged at the museum’s front yard. The residents and visitors of the city will get a chance to take part in a few actions.
During the year, the museum has been collecting and classifying the materials on the historical, artistic and technological specificity of the panoramas, and has shaped a collection of digital representations of existing panoramas from around the world and extant images of the lost panoramas.
All the collected materials could currently be found at the new arranged, permanently working information area of the museum, equipped with an information kiosk, plasma screen and a virtual reality goggles. The visitors will be able to browse through the virtual panoramas of different ages and nations, to get acquainted with a history, specificity and diversity of panoramic art, and these genre artists. Contemporary electronic technologies enable the visitors to observe technological and innovative stages of the panorama of Stalingrad Battle creation, from designing a building, the unique canvas preparation, and the pencil sketches with under paintings to the final work. In general, an interactive program will introduce 30 current world’s panoramas.
Through the project "Panorama at Panorama of the Life” the Historical-Memorial Museum and National Park "Battle of Stalingrad" expresses its intention to become a center for information on panorama as an exceptional art genre.
