Society and culture: Exhibition of documents “Conversation with photography” in Barnaul

The exhibition of documents “Conversation with photography” opened at the State Archive of the Altai Krai in Barnaul. The exposition is dedicated to the social portrait of the society of Altai in the end of the XIX – early XXI century. The exhibition features documents and materials telling of the advent of photography in Altai in the end of the XIX century, the first masters and a photo studio, the further development of the skills of photographer and the subject of plots in the XX century, as well as some moments of development and characteristics of the social structure of society in the region.

The exposition is divided into five sections: “On the eve of great upheaval”, “Formation of the Soviet people”, “Men of war”, “The main asset - people...”, “The time has chosen us”.

The exposition includes more than 250 documents, most of which are photographs as well as materials of personal funds. The photo albums, which have become “material evidence” in the archival materials of investigation files, are also presented.
