World history and culture: The exhibition “The power of the mind” opened in Varna

In the Primorsky Park of Varna (Bulgaria) was opened the exhibition “The Power of the mind”, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the Moravian mission of Saints Cyril and Methodius.

The exhibition is held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev.

The exposition is dedicated to the Moravian mission, the parish of students and followers of the holy brothers to Bulgaria up the Golden Age of the Bulgarian culture inscribed to the European culture the names of Clement of Ohrid, Constantine of Preslav, Ioan Exarch and Chernoritzand Brave. A special attention is given to large-scale cultural activities in the centers of education and spirituality of medieval Bulgaria - Pliska, Preslav and Ohrid, under the patronage of the Bulgarian royal court of Boris Michael Baptist, Simeon the Great and Peter I of Bulgaria. Thanks to the translation of the holy books into the language of the people and the protection of its right to exist Cyril and Methodius were five years ahead of the Reformation in the liturgy, literature and culture of medieval Europe. Thanks to the Old Bulgarian Literature Bulgaria has turned into a powerful Christian state, in the cultural and religious model for the Slavic peoples in the Middle Ages and the Old Bulgarian language has become a sort of Latin for Eastern Europe.  

In early September the exhibition will be shown for the European Commission in Brussels. Its aim is to emphasize the Slavic contribution to the development of the European civilization.
