The Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum in collaboration with the Fujifilm Company is developing the technology of reproductions of canvases by the artist in 3D. The copies are called «Relievos».
The technology, by which3D-reproductions are made, was developed in the Fujifilm Company more than seven years. Replicas are made using 3D-scanning of the original paintings and prints in high resolution. The copy is so detailed that reproduction is exactly the same even the reverse side of the original. Furthermore, each picture is inserted in the frame exactly the same as the original. This technology can make a day not more than three replicas, so each picture was repeated only 260 copies under the guidance of experts and museum curators.
