
World history: A copy of the Dutch house of Peter I to appear in Moscow
The Museum-Reserve “Kolomenskoye” (Moscow) have begun works on installing of a copy of the House of Peter I from the Netherlands Zaandam.
A copy of the House of Peter I in Kolomenskoye will be made and erected by Dutch military builders of the 101st Engineer Battalion of Vezepa of specially imported designs and materials. This is - a gift of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as part of the 2013 Year of the cross-Russian-Dutch cooperation.
The construction plays genuine sizes the House of Peter I in Zaandam, which is the oldest wooden house in the Netherlands. It was built in 1632 from the wood of old ships as housing for working people. Russian Tsar Peter the Great lived in this house during his stay in Holland in 1697, where he went to study shipbuilding business.
Currently, the research team is preparing Museum exposition dedicated to the Peter I stay in Zaandam. The partners in the creation of the exhibition are the specialists of the Zaandam Museum in the Netherlands.
