Russian language and society: The IV National Scientific-Practical School “Reading Chekhov” in the Moscow region

From 20 to 24 August 2013 in the A. P. Chekhov State Museum Reserve “Melikhovo” (the Moscow region) is taking place the IV National Scientific-Practical summer school for teachers of Russian language and literature “Reading Chekhov” with support by the Ministry of Culture of the Moscow region and the Chekhov Commission of the Council on the history of the world culture RAS.

Teachers of the Russian language and literature, teachers of secondary schools, grammar schools, and lyceums are invited to take part.

The school “Reading Chekhov” introduces to the current issues of the study of biography and the poetics of the writer, with the methodology of literary and linguistic analysis of Chekhov’s works.

The practice lessons deal with specific ways of analyzing of the prose and the drama art of the writer, above all by the example of Chekhov’s works from the curriculum.

The school is attended by leading researchers of the life and work of A. P. Chekhov, secondary school teachers with experience in high school or who are constantly interacting with it.
