Society and culture: The anniversary exhibition “Vladimir Lebedev – Russian avant-garde artist” to be held in Yekaterinburg

From 16 August to 10 November 2013 in the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts as part of the project “Russian Museum in Yekaterinburg: 10 Years Together” will be held the anniversary exhibition “Vladimir Lebedev - Russian avant-garde artist”.

The tenth exhibition of drawings from the collection of the State Russian Museum is traditionally timed to the Day of the city. The exhibition will feature sixty two original graphic works by the master, created in 1920, and implemented ​​in the techniques of watercolor, various types of pencil, ink, gouache, lamp soot.

An interesting artists of the XX century, Vladimir Vasilievich Lebedev (1891-1967) was an extraordinarily versatile - a great artist and a brilliant master of drawing, one of the founders of the new Soviet poster and book design. And what is especially unique - the creator of its own, no one else like pictorial and graphic style. Already in the twenties Lebedev received recognition in articles and books of most respected researchers and critics of Russian art. Impeccable professional skills, keen analytical view of reality, the ability to bold experiments provided him a leading position in many areas of creativity.
