Russian language: 2014 is the year of Russian language in Tuva

2014, the year of the 100th anniversary of the unification of Tuva and Russia, is declared to be the Year of Russian language region. This decision was executed by the Decree of the Head of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool. The government is finalizing a national program of support and development of the Russian language in the republic. It is formed the organizing committee and the detailed plan for the Year of Russian language in Tuva.

Let us remind that Sholban Kara-ool came up with the idea to declare the Year of Russian Language at the June meeting of civic initiatives. According to the chairman of GIS Kuular Darzha, Sholban Kara-ool himself asked agenda of the conversation: “The head of government has always attached great importance to the issue of the Russian language in the country and has spoken with initiatives aimed at increasing the level of his knowledge, especially young people, for whom he is the key to vocational education, future careers and the well-being”.

In the context of the governor’s initiative jointly with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture should be developed the target program for the development of Russian language with clear and specific guidelines.

Under the implementation of plans for the Year of Russian language should be amended plans for publishing the editorial policy of the media, cultural events and educational activities.
