Memory of Russia: Festival of the military-historical reconstruction “Frontier Fortress: in Ivangorod

From July 29 to August 4, 2013 in Ivangorod (the Leningrad region) is held the Festival of military-historical reconstruction “Frontier Fortress”.

The Fortress in Ivangorod was built by 1492. The architecture of the Fortress is similar to the Western European castles of the period. Since the end of the XV - beginning of XVI century the fortress is almost not affected, so it is ideal for the historic festival, the theme of which - the sunset of the European Middle Ages.

The basic concept of the festival – a showing of the daily life of the camp garrison of the castle and the collection of militias conducting parades, contests, banquets, training and exercises before the siege of the castle, as well as the siege of the castle and fighting in it.
