History of Russia: Cultural-historical University “History of the Russian state” for compatriots, living abroad, in Saint-Petersburg

From 30 September to 11 October 2013 as part of the program of the Government of Saint-Petersburg “Compatriots” the urban Foreign Relations Committee holds a jubilee, the tenth of cultural and historical University titled “The History of the Russian State” for compatriots living abroad.

The aim of the project is to increase knowledge of overseas compatriots, as well as the establishment of scientific and social ties between them and their historical homeland. 20 lectures are representing the authoring prepared by leading experts of the experts of Saint-Petersburg based on research and historical sources.

The name of the current cultural and historic university was received from the monumental work of the historian N. M. Karamzin, thanks to whom at one time was occurred the establishment of a Russian national identity.
