Memory of Russia: 633 anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo celebrated in the Tula region

From 19 to 22 September 2013 the State Military Historical and Natural Museum-Reserve “Kulikovo Field” held the International Military History Festival “Kulikovo Field”, dedicated to the 633 anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo in the Tula region.

As part of the festival at the fords of Tatinsky, the enactors of different directions presented medieval traditions of Russia and the Golden Horde epoch of the battle of Kulikovo, life, costumes, crafts, cuisine of the two cultures.

the festival 2013 was attended by the military-historical clubs from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vyborg, Novgorod, Pskov, Engels, Bryansk, Rybinsk, Saratov, Izhevsk, Penza, Samara, Cherepovets, Gomel, Kiev, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi (Ukraine) other cities.

September 21, the anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo, was held the most spectacular action - reconstruction of medieval battle. The reconstruction includes thousands of spectators-members of the military-historical festival “Battle of Kulikovo” where revived the stories of the chronicle of the Battle of Kulikovo. To a detailed familiarity with the military traditions of Russia and the Golden Horde of the Middle Ages was devoted parade defile of festival participants, shows horse of mighty man, historical fencing tournament.

At the monument-column to Dmitry Donskoy again in the solemn ceremony took place the oath of service to the Fatherland, a civilian commission meeting and lithium on the soldiers who died for their country at all times, there have been committed military rituals.

September 22 at the Field of Kulikovo took place a traditional meeting of students of historical faculties of the central regions of Russia. First-year students took part in the “Keepers of the future’. Novice historians and educators in dramatized form learnt about the cultural heritage of the Kulikovo Field and the Battle of Kulikovo.
