Museums of Russia: The Patriotic Park with aviation museums, armored vehicles and artillery to appear in the Moscow region
The Ministry of Defence of Russia will create in Kubinka the patriotic park, which will include three museums - aviation, armored vehicles and artillery, said the Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu.
Speaking at a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry, Shoigu said that the new project “would allow not only the look, but also a bit of traveling and flying, and shooting and parachuting, and a lot more”. Officers’ retirees are supposed to work in the museums. According to the minister, the basic concept of the park will be completed in November.
Currently, Kubinka has the Central Museum of armored vehicles, which is open to visitors since 1972. Five kilometers from the town is the airfield, which is based, in particular on the aerobatic team “Swifts” and “Russian Knights”. In his speech, Shoigu said that the Kubinka should have, in addition to aircraft, the tank aerobatic teams.
