Memory of the world: The VI International festival of culture and history “Guests of Ancient Kiev of the XV century” in the Kiev region

The “Park of Kievan Rus’” (the ​​Kiev region, Ukraine) with the support of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of States on 21-22 September 2013 is held the VI International Festival of Culture and History “Guests of Ancient Kiev of the XV century”.

More than 500 participants of historical reconstruction clubs are taking part in the reconstruction of the atmosphere of the XV century. The festival is attended by participants from Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Poland, Germany and other countries.

The festival takes place in the “Kievan Rus’ Park - a unique place where is constructed and reconstructed the medieval city - Ancient Kiev of the V-XIII centuries - in the size of its historic center, known as Detinets (the Kremlin) of Kiev or Vladimir. Its architectural image is recreated in full 1:1 scale with all the knowledge of modern science. “The Kievan Rus’ Park” is located in the village of Kopachev of the Obukhov district, the Kiev region (Ukraine).

The purposes of the festival:

- The development of cultural relations between Ukraine and the CIS countries, as well as other states;

- To involve people (particularly children and young people) to the ancient culture through its various components: music, word, performing arts, traditional crafts;

- The formation of active life position, modern and positive values ​​in life - a healthy lifestyle, the harmonious development of personality, striving for spiritual and physical perfection among the youth.

The main event of the festival will be the re-establishment of knightly tournament - fights and group fights, battles and walking for the first time - spectacular horse collision of Knights. This unique show will be created by enactors of Russia and Belarus for festival guests.
