History and culture: The Art project “Windows of courage” in Moscow
September 18, 2013 in Moscow on the Gogol Boulevard (at the building of the Ministry of Defence of Russia) has opened an art project “The windows of courage” - on display for everyone are the works of war artists and photographers.
At the round-the-clock public exhibition, organized by the Cultural Department of the Ministry of Defense and the Agency “Voeninform”, you can see 14 battle paintings, implemented by the artists of the studio M. B. Grekov.
The plots are connected with vivid historical events: Dmitry Donskoy is sent along with the army on the Kulikovo field, Admiral Fyodor Ushakov - during the siege of Corfu, the legendary Marshal Georgy Zhukov and Konstantin Rokossovsky - in the Red Square in 1945, at one of the paintings is depicted the feat of battery of Raevsky during the Patriotic War of 1812. 12 photographs taken during exercise and rescue operations, demonstrate the everyday modern Russian army. A part of the photo exhibition is devoted to the work of the military men in the aftermath of flooding in the Far East.
“Through these two projects, we derive an army culture, military life in the public and public space. Soon, another exhibition of paintings we open on at the Sadovo-Spasskaya Street”, - they told at the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
