To the 400th anniversary of the Romanovs: The scientific-exhibition project “The house of Romanovs. Four centuries of the Russian culture” in Perm

The Perm region implements a large-scale program dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. To the anniversary of the Tsar house, in the framework of the regional program, the Perm Art Gallery has produced a large research and exhibition project “The house of Romanovs. Four centuries of Russian culture”.

The project represents the Romanov dynasty in the broad context of Russian culture and art of the XVII - the XXI centuries. It was created for the purpose of scientific study, the promotion and preservation of Russia’s historical and cultural heritage, as well as mainstreaming devoted to the House of Romanov in the context of regional, national and Western Europe culture.

As part of the project till September 30 the exhibition works “Under the royal monogram and crossed swords”. It features etchings of Russian and Western European artists, exemplary porcelain of Russia and Germany of the XVIII - beginning of the XX century and early printed books of the rare regional library of M. A. Gorky.

September 17 opened the exhibition “The House of Romanovs. Throne and altar”. The exhibition in a thematic context presents icon, wooden sculpture, print and original graphics, People’s splint, painting, sculpture, medal art, porcelain, glass, as well as works of precious metals of the XVII - XXI centuries.

September 17-19, 2013 took place the International scientific-practical conference “The Romanov dynasty in the culture and art of Russia and Western Europe”.

The conference was attended by scientists from Germany, Latvia, the United States, France, Uzbekistan, and many Russian cities, especially those whose history is closely linked with the Romanovs, the Perm region - is no exception.
