History and culture: The exhibition of icons “Silent sermon” in the Vologda Museum-Reserve

The exhibition “Silent sermon” which opened at the Art Department of the Vologda Museum, is dedicated to the highest form of art - the icon. It is timed to two important anniversaries - the 700th anniversary of the birth of St. Sergius of Radonezh and the 500 anniversary of the finding of the relics of St. Martinian Belozersky – the exposition of contemporary works of the temple gives a clear idea that church art evolves and continues to be based on the best traditions of art and high moral ideals.

More than 300 monuments, bringing together the works of Icon painting school at the Moscow Theological Academy, the Center for temple art of Andrei Rublev, the creative workshop of Anatoly Aleshin, a group of masters “Skinia” will be on display at the museum until mid-November, after which the exhibition will travel to the Sergiev Posad Museum-reserve of History and Art. In addition, it has received an invitation to the Novgorod State Museum and even to Venice.
