History and culture: The exhibition “A. S. Pushkin, F. I. Tyutchev, P. I. Tchaikovsky. Three genius in the service of the Fatherland” in the Moscow region

The State House Museum of P. I. Tchaikovsky hosted a new exhibition “A. S. Pushkin, F. I. Tyutchev, P. I. Tchaikovsky . Three genius in the service of the Fatherland”. It is created with the participation of the State Pushkin Museum and the Museum of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater.

The exposition presents three major figures of Russian culture of the XIX century as Russian citizens in their creative and public service. The life and career of Pushkin (1799-1837), Tyutchev (1803-1873) and Tchaikovsky (1849-1893) occurred in the reign of five Russian emperors of the Romanov dynasty. This is the time of Paul I, Alexander I, Nicholas I, Alexander II and Alexander III, as noted by the ups and victories, as well as the tragic events in the lives of these rulers and Russian life. Pushkin, Tyutchev and Tchaikovsky were not only contemporaries and witnesses of that time, but also active participants in the creative activity, and public service. 

The exhibition features personal items, portraits, documents, household items relating to the life and work of three geniuses of the exhibition, as well as theatrical costumes outstanding domestic singers of the XX century, taking part in the productions of operas by Tchaikovsky, plots of which are associated with the reign of Peter I and Catherine II.
