Exhibitions: The XI Biennale of Graphic Art of the Baltic Sea countries “Kaliningrad-Konigsberg-2013”

September 13, 2013 in the Kaliningrad Art Gallery with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Kaliningrad region and the International Committee of the “ARS Baltica” starts one of the largest and most significant cultural projects in the region – the XI Biennial of Graphic Art of the Baltic Sea countries “Kaliningrad - Konigsberg 2013”.

The history of the Biennale began in 1990. The first 10 years it was attended by artists of the USSR and then Russia and the republics of the former Soviet Union, working in unique technology and printed graphics. In 2000 the project has reached a new level, bringing together artists, curators, and critics of the Baltic region. Since 2002, the Baltic Biennale of Graphic is attended by artists from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland, Germany, Denmark and Sweden - the young authors and recognized masters of European art.

The Baltic Biennale of Graphic Art “Kaliningrad-Konigsberg 2013” - European trends of unique graphics. The exposition will be located on an area of more than 2.5 thousand square meters and will present more than 100 works of graphic artists from nine countries in the Eastern Europe.

A special event of the Biennale - a solo exhibition of Peter Dick, one of the most famous Russian artists of the late XX century, whose name has been entered in the history of modern art, the works - the golden fund of collections of many museums in Russia and Europe.

The opening day of the Biennale will include an international conference “The main trends of the development of graphic art of the Baltic Sea”, which together with Russia and Kaliningrad artists, art critics and curators will include more than forty foreign visitors. The outcome of the project will be the publication of the catalog “XI Biennale of Graphic Art of the Baltic Sea “Kaliningrad-Konigsberg in 2013”.
